Why this lender recommends it
"The premise of this book is there is treasure buried the downtown Los Angeles area that was founded by the early Spanish settlers of the town. A group of opportunists dig a tunnel several hundred yards from a warehouse to the location. I thought when I read it that there was a great movie in it. It reminded me of all the old POW escape movies. In particular several of the character go through tremendous changes physically and mentally. Changes which all seem logically motivated by the strain they put themselves through. One of my hidden, forgotten treasures." - Reviewer on Goodreads.com
